My first time trying cafe coda and it was amazing! The food on the menu is exciting; breakfast staples and some staples with a fun twist that i haven't found anywhere else in town. The place itself is adorable. We sat inside due to cold weather but went outside after to check it out and the outdoor heaters were great; we could've happily sat out there as well. A hot sauce selection to make any hot sauce lover look twice, and a friendly and attentive staff. Most dishes between 18-24$ and both my boyfriend and i went home with leftovers. The portions are nice. Definitely will be back to try more items off the menu!

It's about time I FINALLY did a review on my most favorite restaurant in Chico, Cafe Coda! My wife Lori and I along with our adorable, handsome son, Timmy have been dinning at this establishment for YEARS!!! I can only say this is THE BEST, breakfast place in Chico. Yes, I know, some of you may disagree, but you'll never convince me otherwise! I think the reason why I haven't done a review on Cafe Coda is because when we get there, there's always pleasant distractions like Summer, Cafe Coda's hostess and front house manager, Leo "the man", our favorite waiter, and I can't leave out Raul and then there's adorable Morgan! And then when the food arrives we can't wait to enjoy the feast! The vibe at Cafe Coda is simply chill, come on in and sit down to dine on some absolutely supercilious food! The resturant has seating at the entrance, then another large room, further back, then outdoor dinning on the back patio which is absolutely wonderful. The restaurant is way cool, the ambiance, well, way cool...Artsy and welcoming! They have various venues happening throughout the month in the restaurant and out back at their new outside bar and seating. There's just too much going on to cover in this review. Check it out: www.cafecoda.com Ok, for starters, the coffee is to die for! OMG! They have the best coffee! You can order a cup of fresh drip (bottomless) or the French press which comes in two sizes. Then there's all the speciality and traditional espressos. Cafe Coda also serves specialty beverages, wine and beer. Ok, I got distracted. Back to the FOOD! Lori and I usually order the Coda Benedict and share one OUT OF THIS PLANET, banana walnut pancake! I have never tasted a more delectable pancake than Cafe Coda's banana walnut pancakes! I still have to overnight FedEx, 12 frozen vacuum sealed, banana walnut pancakes I purchased at Cafe Coda's when we were last there this past Sunday, 8-18 to my dear friend Eiko who I've known for 50 years and lives in Camel with her husband, John. She is a foodie and still raves about the banana walnut pancake she shared with me in early June when she came up with family to attend a high school graduation. We went to Chico Junior and Senior high together, then attended Chico State. I am a native Chicoan, born at Enloe hospital in 1962 and I was raised here until I moved to SoCal in 1983 to attend San Diego State's nursing program, grad 1986 w/my BSN. Lived and worked in the LA area for years. I finally returned to Chico in 2006 to care for my mom after she fractured her hip and to help her manage her houses and properties (almond/walnut orchards). Some of you may even know of my mom. She was a local Chico icon, the little old lady who used to push her wheel barrel thru her orchards and garden in her yards all the time. Day in and day out. Mama lived in the big yellow Victorian house off of Nord Avenue. My mom (Helena Vrisimo) lived to be 100 and 9 months old! Tough Portuguese woman! Check out this YouTube video: https://youtu.be/99KHgJ7JwfM Check out this YouTube video of my beautiful wife, Lori--so proud of her... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xnWLpPOC6u8 There's even a story that was aired on Action News they did on our son Timmy when he attended Durham high school back in 2016, I think, but for the life of me, we can't find the clip. What the h**l did I drink yesterday, just stay focused. I'm all over the place! So, the Breakfast Sandwich is just insane! Then there's the A Train, Breakfast Burrito, three types of French Toast, Stupendo, Wise Guy, Fat Boy, Smoked Sausage Hash... yes we've been faithful Foodie patrons for years! All absolutely de--lic--ious! Can I get an Amen! Don't get me started on the lunch menu... Green Goddess BLTA-- get a room! Ok, I got to whine this down--the lunch menu is simply devine. Oh, and BTW: there's a Vegan menu... This restaurant is always packed on the weekends and busy during the weekdays. But I'm telling you it's well worth the wait! So I hope all of you out there share this post and rave about Cafe Coda in agreement. I look forward to reading your comments. These reviews are so fun to write! Adeus!

I've been wanting to try this place and finally got the opportunity to do so, this place is hopping, even on a random Thursday mid-late morning. They have plenty of seating to wait and can seat you inside or out. The service is excellent, my host was lovely as well as my server, and checked on me frequently (but not too frequent or pushy), and helped me make decisions on their menu, which all sounds amazing. He HIGHLY suggested the shot (turmeric, ginger, citrus, cayenne and I'm missing something) which I had zero interest in, but turned out to really be quite good!!! I also had the honey lavender latte, LOVE. Thank you for someone doing this right in Chico! I just had to try the Coda Benedict with pork belly instead of ham. Other than needing to add a little bit of salt, this was excellent. And I live for potatoes so I was very excited to eat those crispy delicious potatoes. Will definitely be back!!

Yes. Go. This place is quickly becoming my favorite breakfast spot in Chico. The staff is always so nice and the food hits the spot every time. I've had the sausage scramble and this time got the Benedict. When I mentioned the hotel coffee being bad, the server was super nice and gave me a nice, full to go cup to take. It was great and I look forward to going back next time I'm in town.

Food and ambiance were great! It seems like this place is always busy but we were able to be seated within 20 minutes for a Sunday brunch, which isn't bad. Loved the lemon pancakes and the tomato soup. The sandwhich was tasty too. You get a lot of food for your money which is nice. Would go again!

Great ambiance and service. They have their own lot in the back with plenty of parking. They do have long waits to get seated but they have a beer garden in the back where you can order drinks while sitting and waiting. We sat outdoors and they had fans blowing but it was still super hot - if in the heat I'd recommend getting indoor seating! Food portions were huge and hearty, decently priced for the quantity of food you get.

In Chico, this is a great place for breakfast, lunch or to just a grab a healthy "shot " or a fantastic espresso coffee! The chicken sandwich with chimichurri was outstanding on the softest focaccia bread I've tasted in a long time! The fat boy breakfast makes you feel like you might be a "fat boy" in the serving size but you keep wanting to eat it all the way to the end. Great service by Owen and a wonderful place to start off your day!

I received several local recommendations for this place and decided to give it a try. Finding street parking was easy. We visited on an early Saturday afternoon, and while the place was bustling, the wait was surprisingly short. They took our name and gave us a buzzer to alert us when our table was ready. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating. We started with two drinks: the Space Oddity and the Aloha from Hawaii. Both were delicious! For our meal, we chose the Coda Benedict and the Chimichurri Chicken Sandwich. The Coda Benedict was particularly delightful, featuring parmesan focaccia bread instead of English muffins, which added a unique twist. The Chimichurri Chicken Sandwich served with a side of tomato soup, was also very tasty. Portions were large and in charge! The service was top-notch, with everyone being exceptionally kind. Highly recommend this place!
